sorry.....

i know that voting for fav teams isnt realy relevant for this site but i want to find out if i am still going for the most popular team: MANLY.
i have been to see them play 5 times, two of them being Grand Finals. Its about to become 6 because im travelling 6hrs up to Wollongong to see then VS the st george dragons. i have a bet with my friend, if manly win i get $50…..but if they lose, so do i :(

Despite my vote

I was a long long time Canberra Raiders fan during my childhood during their golden years. Laurie was the best of them, but that doesn’t diminish the rest – Big Mal, Ricky Stuart (best halfback of his time, unseated Langer whenever it counted, but admit Johns was better at his best), Brad Clyde, Steve Walters, Brett Mullins, Ruben Wiki, Noa Nadruku, Ken Nagas, Jason Croker, Sean Hoppe, Dave Furner, Quentin Pongia, send off hero Lomax, and his replacement – unlikely 1994 grand final hero Paul Osborne. (Think I’ve just named nearly the entire 94 grand final team, plus a few others from other years). The team was brilliant, but by the time Laurie left in 2000, it was a shadow of its former self.

Parra don’t have the same finishing touch that those Raiders have (cough choke in the game before the grand final more times than I can remember), and have a knack for getting knocked out on my wifes birthday (also a supporter) more times than seems fair, but I like the players. Hindmarsh, Burt, and even Hayne’s come to realise his talent this year.

Good poll Nestern. I wouldn’t call it irrelevent, this is as much a social team as it is a team about hockey, treks and occasionally gaming :)

RAIDERS

Best Team, Experts always write them off yet we still manage to do well.

NRL Best Sport in the world

AFL is softer than netball

Union is for metrosexuals

Memories.

Ahh yes. I remember very much all the Raiders posters and newspaper clippings that you had Fuzz. I think Tim had some aswell? Dunno if the two pairs of Raiders coloured football socks I had came from you guys.. Gosh. =)

Have seen one person around these Brisbane suburbs with a Sydney Swans scarf, and another with a Penrith Panthers jersey. Quiet tempting to go up and have a nostalgic conversation of distant places called home, and local sports teams.

Go the Titans!

The youngest team in the NRL.

Ive never liked the Bronco s and more of a Cowboys fan before the Titans were established in 2007, probably because i spent some time in Rocky when i was small till i came to brisbane.

This year ive been to a few of Titans home games and a derby match against Broncos in Brisbane. I love the atmoshpere and the Titans are always strong at home and in the 12 home games ive been to this year and the last since the construction of Skilled Park, i have not seen them lose once.

With such a young side i think the Titans will go a long way in time and find their play very exciting and unpredictable.

Fuzz, i remember the Raiders of old back in the early 90s, they were really good. I remember winger Noa Nadruku who used to play 7s for Fiji until his conversion. He was a great finisher. I watched the Raiders play at skilled park this year. It was close but luck was on the titans side and i remember Rogers scoring in the dying minutes to break the deadlock. Titans lost the return match in Canberra recently.

All in all, im really passionate about rugby league, though i still consider rugby union my first love and rate it slightly higher than league though only by a hair. im still following NRL closely regardless being on the other side of the world checking and viewing results on the Titans homepage http://www.titans.com.au/

Go the Titans!

GO NZ

But i dont like NRL.

Rugby is better GO THE ALL BLACKS
